Cindy has been an active parishioner of St. Catherine's since she moved to Greenwich in 1994.  She has served on the Parish Council and Religious Education Board and has volunteered in various ways over the years.  She continues to be a part of the Carnival Committee, St. Catherine's Players and teaches Religious Education classes.  Prior to working at St. Catherine's, Cindy spent 12 years with Swiss Bank Corporation before taking some time off to raise her three children.

Marco CastanoMarco Castano

Marco Castano was born in Columbia, South America and has lived in the United States since 1987. Marco received his American citizenship in August 1996. Marco has more than 25 years of experience as a cook. He has worked for Centro Restaurant in Darien and C'est Si Bon Restaurant in Greenwich. Before joining St. Catherine's in 1999, Marco was the rectory cook at St. John's in Darien.  By day, Marco is the sole proprietorof a house cleaning business.

Having achieved the American dream of owning his own home, Marco now worries about paying his mortgage. In his "spare" time, he enjoys working outside in his yard or puttering on the inside with some home improvement project.

Claire began working at St. Catherine's in November of 1991 as a Receptionist and soon afterwards took on the task of Wedding Coordinator for the church.  Prior to working at St. Catherine's, Claire worked at hospitals in the Greenwich and Stamford area, for a law firm in Stamford and for the Stamford YMCA.

Claire is an active member of her parish, St. John's in Darien.  She has been a shopper for the Jewish Shopping Service in Greenwich since 1990.  Claire enjoys skiing, hiking, golf and theatre.   She is involved with the Senior Women's Ballet and takes creative writing classes in Darien. At home she enjoys working on her outdoor garden.

Lisa joined St. Catherine's in September 2007.  Over the years, she has worked as an Executive Secretary/Administrative Assistant for major corporations in the Stamford area.  In 1992, Lisa left the workforce to become a stay-at-home mom and spent the next several years raising her son and daughter.  Just before joining St. Catherine's, in early 2006, she decided to accept a part-time administrative support position for a local company that interfaced with the Connecticut family court system.  Lisa most enjoys spending time with her family and closest friends. In her free time she loves to cook, play golf, and take long walks with Ginger, a nine year old cockapoo.  During football season you will find the DeLeo family at home on Sunday's watching the games and cheering for their favorite team, the NY Giants.

Emma Doring has been a fundamental part of our religious education department for the past 40 years.  Over the years she has gained much experience, working with various Directors of Religious Education, and is a significant part of our children's religious education experience.  She uses her organizational skills to coordinate the many special events offered by the religious education department, as well to organize holiday food drives and work with the children on their sacramental preparations.

Together with Betty Lundgren, Emma's enthusiasm brightens the religious education offices and welcomes children and parents alike.

Deacon Howe was ordained in 1994 by His Eminence, Edward Cardinal Egan.  His current diaconal assignment is St. Joseph Parish in Danbury.

Before coming to St. Catherine’s, Deacon Howe was at St. Aloysius Church in New Canaan, and worked as the Business Manager and then as the Technical Manager for the school.  During his 21 years of ordained life, he has worked with various parishes in establishing religious education programs, and working with the Directors of Formation in planning classes and activities for the youth groups.

Deacon Howe’s liturgical duties as the Deacon at Mass include proclaiming the Gospel and preaching God’s Word.  He is also able to administer the Sacrament of Baptism and serve as the duly authorized sacred minister for the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony.

Deacon Howe was elected to the Diaconal Council in January 2014, for a three-year term.  He also serves as the Chairperson for the Diaconal Council. In October 2014 Deacon Lou was appointed by Bishop Caggiano to be an Assistant Master of Ceremonies for a period of three years.

Born in Port Chester, Betty Lundgren moved to Riverside at the age of five and has been a part of the St. Catherine of Siena community ever since.  She became part of St. Catherine's staff 23 years ago, and together with Emma Doring, she works to ensure that our children have a meaningful religious education experience.

Whether she is sending email reminders, organizing Thanksgiving food drives or helping to prepare the children for First Communion, Betty's kindness sets a good example.  She is an integral part of our religious education department.

Terri joined St. Catherine's November 1999 as the part-time assistant to the Community Life Director.  In June 2001 when that department was eliminated, she transferred over to the Business Office assisting the Business Manager.  In September 2006 she became a full-time employee and the Census Manager. 

Prior to joining St. Catherine's, Terri worked as Office Manager for a consulting engineering firm and for a title insurance company. These positions gave her an accumulated total of more than 20 years experience in the business world.

What she loves to do most is spend time with her family and closest friends.  Terri's other loves are shopping, gardening and listening to her CDs. She has an extensive collection that ranges from Motown to Mozart.

Janis Pataky lives in Stamford and has been a catechetical minister since 1992. Before she came to St. Catherine of Siena, she was Youth Minister at St. Thomas More in Darien from 2005 to 2012, directing 400-500 teens. Responsibilities included directing the youth group (grades 9-12), grades 6-7-8 and Confirmation grade 9. Janis pioneered many outreach programs such as a social justice teaching program called "That's Not Fair," Drive-By-Raking, apple pie making for New Covenant House, tree of light fundraising project, partnered with Domus Foundation began a Christmas wrap party, led 7 youth group mission trips to Appalachia to build houses, and led an annual Midnight Run to NYC to feed the homeless.

Prior to St. Thomas More, Janis was Director of Faith Formation at St. Maurice Church in Stamford from 1999 to 2005. Her ministry included directing K-8, Sacraments, RCIA coordinator, and Youth Group. Janis came from a corporate background in event planning, advertising and marketing and owned a graphics and advertising business called Studio 32 located in Stamford.

Janis's undergraduate degree is from Sacred Heart University in psychology, and her Masters work was done at Fairfield University in counseling. She has a Minor in Theology and Philosophy and has a certificate in Parish Catechetical Formation from the REAPS program at Sacred Heart University. Janis is a member of NPCD (National Parish Catechetical Directors) and attends national and regional educational conferences and courses to continue her own religious formation.

For 6 years, Janis served on the Board of Trustees at Sacred Heart University. Currently, she is Vice President of the Catechetical Leaders of the Diocese of Bridgeport (CLDB) founded by Bishop Lori.

Janis says: "Teaching children keeps me young! I am blessed to be chosen to share my faith with the St. Catherine of Siena parish family."

Liya Petrides was born in St. Petersburg, Russia where she received her early musical training in piano, chorus, composition and organ at Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory College. After immigrating to the USA in1993, she earned her Master of Music degree from the Manhattan School of Music and a doctorate from Juilliard in organ performance on a full scholarship. She was fortunate to study with two legendary organists of the twentieth century McNeil Robinson and Gerre Hancock. Prior to St. Catherine's, Dr. Petrides served as the music director of St. Theresa’s Church in the Bronx and the Immaculate Conception Church in Tuchahoe, NY. In addition to her duties as a liturgical musician, Liya has appeared at many prestigious concert venues such as the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, DC, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, St. Thomas Fifth Avenue Church, Carnegie, Alice Tully and Avery Fisher Halls, and many others. She lives in Pelham Bay, Bronx with her husband, guitarist and composer, Mercy College professor Dr. Ron Petrides, and their two young children, Teddy and Sophia.
