Who We Are
The purpose of the ministry is to help people who may be hurting physically, mentally or emotionally, to get the help they need.  Certainly our spiritual needs here at St. Catherine's are well covered.  This ministry is about healing and wholeness, health promotion, and dealing with all sorts of life issues.

We're here in a volunteer capacity, and not here to replace your doctor or your nurse, but rather to be available when you or someone you know needs a helping hand.  We are continually developing and updating community resources for referrals.  And we will advocate for you and help you coordinate the care you need, honoring your confidentiality in the process.

St. Catherine of Siena Church is a Roman Catholic faith community called to affirm that each person is precious, by fostering community among all members of the parish through greater sensitivity to individual needs.  A unique way to fulfill this part of our parish's mission is by establishing this new ministry.

Since we began this ministry in March 2014, our twenty-plus ministers have lovingly brought Holy Eucharist, made home visits or otherwise helped on more than 1,500 occasions!

Our Mission
The mission of the Faith Community Nursing Ministry is to promote health and wellness of body, mind and spirit within our faith community of St. Catherine of Siena Church through worship, service and education. We recognize that it is through this faith community that individuals and families find continuing connectedness, encouragement, hope and love. This ministry strives to strengthen the parish and enable our parishioners to focus on serving God by serving others.

We are all working together to make a large parish community a little bit smaller.   The mission of the Faith Community Nursing Ministry is to promote health and wellness of body, mind and spirit within our faith community through worship, service and education.  Our Faith Community Nursing ministers are parish volunteers who are trained by the ministry to do this work.

How You Can Help
We all know that what makes us happiest is when we are loving and caring toward one another. And this is what we are hoping to accomplish in our Faith Community Nursing Ministry here at St. Catherine’s. Every one of you can be a part of this ministry!

• Become a Faith Community Nursing Minister. All you need is a loving heart, and we will train you as needed.

• Bring Holy Eucharist to anyone who is homebound for any reason.

• Visit the homebound.

• Make bereavement calls to families of deceased parishioners.

• Pray that together we successfully continue to follow Jesus’ beautiful command to love one another.

• When you recognize someone in need, you can seek assistance from this ministry.

• You may want to come to us with your own needs.

We promise to do our very best to foster healing in body, soul and spirit for all those who take part in this ministry in any way!
